The Music Man Jr.

March 5 & 6 @ 7 pm

The Music Man is a delightful production that the whole family will enjoy! It is a classic musical and is about to be revived on Broadway this fall with Hugh Jackman playing the leading role. It is a humorous story set in 1912. A swindler salesman who calls himself “Prof. Harold Hill” arrives in River City, Iowa selling the idea of a boys band complete with uniforms, instruments, and lessons he never intends to give in order to get River City out of the “Trouble” it’s in. His passionate, convincing argument is communicated in the famous “76 Trombones”. Although he plans to complete the scheme and run away with the money as he has done in towns all over the Midwest, this time something changes in him as he falls in love with the local Librarian/Piano Teacher and in the end stops running and stays to confront the charges against him. The boy’s band is a hit and all the residents of River City, Iowa experience a life transformation. We have 80+ students involved from 4th-12th grades acting, singing and dancing their way through this timeless story through the eyes of many hilarious characters and situations!
